What is the best console to play single player, simulation games, like airplane, or war games, strategy games?

Im not sure if I should choose PS3 this time, since usually the ps3 games are really short, due that they are focused in multi player thing, But I never tried xbox before, so I really need a suggestion.

I dont have internet where I will put the console, so forget about playing online.
